Bruss Construction Inc. of Bradford, NH has been awarded the design build contract for construction of a new day care center at Proctor Academy in Andover, NH. The facility will be 3600' + sq. ft. and consist of administrative offices, Pre-school and Infant classrooms, as well as a large gross motor space playroom. The project broke ground in early November and is scheduled for completion in March of 2002. The daycare center is the first project constructed at Proctor Academy to be a part of the school’s new environmentally friendly & sustainability focused building requirements including such items as: elimination of all fiberglass insulation products from the project, utilization of high performance windows, energy saving lighting fixtures and controls as well as recycling of all project waste. The project has undergone an extensive review of every building component to weigh its cost to the environment for both short and long term.
October 2001Bruss Construction is for the Birds
Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH has been chosen as the contractor for the construction of a new bath house at Camp Wild Wood in Ringe, NH, a facility of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
The project designed by Coldham Architects of Amherst, MA will be a state-of-the-art facility utilizing many renewable resource construction technologies. The building is approximately 3300 sq. ft. and will be the first of several projects planned at the camp in its modernization program. The project is scheduled to start in early November with completion slated for the end of April, 2002.
Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH is pleased to announce the on time, on budget completion of the new Canterbury Shaker Village Visitor’s Center. The new building is an exact exterior re-creation of a building which formerly sat on the site. While the exterior is an exact match to its predecessor the interior is a fully modern building. The building houses a classroom, video room, catering kitchen, orientation spaces, conference rooms and offices while also hosting its primary ticketing and reception functions. The building is the first new building built at the museum since the early 1900’s. The Visitor’s Center will allow the museum to operate year round. The project was designed by TMS Associates of Portsmouth, NH.
July 2001Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH is pleased to announce that they have been selected as the contractor for the renovations and additions to Not So Plain Jane’s Salon & Spa in Manchester, NH.
The project will consist of adding approximately 2600 square feet of additional space to the existing 6000 square foot facility also constructed by Bruss Construction. The new space will serve as a new retail area, cafe and customer waiting and relaxation rooms. Remodeling of the existing space will include work necessary to add additional space for conference rooms, pedicure rooms and treatment rooms. The entire project will happen with no disruption to the facility’s on going services. May 2001Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH has been awarded the contract to construct an addition to the Cricenti’s Supermarket in Hillsboro, NH. The addition will provide more storage and store space for the growing market. The project is scheduled to start in May and be completed before summer’s end.
March 2001Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH is pleased to announce the completion of the Society for Protection of NH Forests office building in Concord, NH. The project consists of 11,000 square feet of state of the art office space designed by Banwell Architects of Lebanon, NH. The building has qualified for a 'Gold' level LEED's (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for utilization of 'green' building techniques. The building was specifically designed and constructed to address environmental concerns in the following areas: Improving energy efficiency, use of renewable resources throughout the project, use of high recycled content products as well as focusing on enhanced indoor environmental quality. The project features a three-story open atrium with a timber frame cut from timber harvested from the construction site.
February 2001Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH announces the completion of renovations at the New London Branch of Mascoma Bank. Work included new interior finishes, a new teller line, replacement of the building’s windows as well as upgrades to the building’s network wiring. Project Architect was Mr. David Laurin, AIA of Banwell Architects in W. Lebanon, NH.
January 2001Bruss Construction, Inc. of Bradford, NH has been awarded the contract for ADA accessibility work as well as life safety upgrades for the Sunapee High School Gymnasium. Renovations will include construction of new handicap accessible bathrooms as well as a variety of life safety upgrade work. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of April, 2001.
